Black History Month is a remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African Diaspora. Black history month was start by Dr Carter G. Woodson to recognize the black people contribution on the American history. Black history month was establishing on 1926 and celebrate on the month of February in United state of America and Canada while United Kingdom celebrate on the month of October.
Black People Contribution
When we talk about black history month, we usually remember Martin Luther King, jr who was the civil right moment leader .He was also known for his Speech “I Have a Dream “. Luther received a Nobel peace prized on 1964 for his outstanding performance on the Civil Right Moment.
Another African leader was Maya Angelou. Angelou was Grammy award winner. In addition, she was famous for being a poet, memoirist, novelist, educator, dramatist, producer, actress, historian, filmmaker, and civil rights activist.Angelou was author of “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”.
Other African leader Include Ralph David Abernathy, rederick Douglass, Ella Fitzgerald, And Jackie Robinson, also play key role on changing the society that we live today.
As we all celebrating Black history month let us not forget those good work and achievement that are made by African People. Let us all not forget “I have a Dream “speech, let us not forget Ella Fitzgerald jazz music And let us all not forget the 44th president of the united state of America.
